It’s sad, it’s really sad. People are rejecting transsexuals everywhere! In recent years we have seen some really interesting developments about these transsexuals, some are good, but mostly bad. New York has finally legalized same sex marriage, although it is not the first city / country to do so. Pakistan is considering to legalize the third sex. But sadly this has resulted in a torrent of negative images of the gay and lesbian society as a whole. A gay pastor in Malaysia is being condemned for conducting this marriage with his partner, a broadway musical director in New York.

What’s the fuck is wrong with these people? If they love to be with the person that they love, what is wrong with that? Why do they care if they marry their same sex, marry someone with long hair, no hair, or someone who loves picking his/her nose in public? They get married because they believe in the marriage institution that solemnize their union. It’s not only about the sex you dimwit!
Malaysians are still living in the dark ages when it comes to sexual liberation. I must admit that I was once guilty too. Can’t blame me, I was molested by one! There were a lot of them everywhere, in my school, in the streets, on the bus, they look like very normal everyday people.

Imagine if you were born with a cleft in your lips, a deformed limb, or without the gift of sight. They feel that they are different right from the moment they were born, very low self-esteem to show themselves to the world, for fear of being ridiculed and joked about. This is made worse when their own family members finds out about this, and they are forced to “repent” and “go back to the right path”. But deep inside, they cannot change that, they know it. They fail to understand that sexual preference is biological, it’s not a choice like religion (I’m talking about you, you stupid religion-quoting assholes who calls yourselves holy man!) So what do they do about it? You see closet cross-dressers, or transsexuals who roam the back lanes only at night to avoid the criticizing eyes of the society. They try to live like normal people like what the society norm is, but what is the norm?

My perception of them changed as soon as I got to know them better. Being human, they only desire simple things that any normal human want; to love, and be loved. What could possibly be wrong with that? If being with the person they love for the rest of their lives is wrong, then I don’t know what else is right! Do you want insist that they marry the opposite sex, but NOT the person that they love, and spend the rest of their lives in misery? Heck, even your so-called “normal” marriage ends up in divorce, so what can be normal with that?

Let’s get one thing straight (ahem, no pun intended). I am not writing this to sympatize them. They do not need to be pitied upon. They only desire to be recognized as who they should rightfully be known as. It sounds simple, but there are very intricate things that even very I sometimes do wrong. Have a look at this video:

It is unfortunate that transsexuals are considered people with weird sexual preferences, and thus are often related to porn. But there are actually a bunch of very famous transsexuals individuals worthy of our attention, because they fought for what they believe. Look up Christine Jorgensen, Renee Richards, even our very own Jesse Chung, you will realize that they are very common after all.

What you do feel about the new sexual revolution? Just ask yourself this question, how would you feel if your own son or daughter decided to do the sex change? If you just hesitated, I think you are not ready yet …..

This is something interesting ….. something popped out onto my browser this morning without me realizing. I thought it was a damn spam, but it turns out it was P1! It says that my limit has been breached and I should consider paying a small amount to increase the limit!

P1 Thanks you for your over-usage

I’d say that this is certainly a welcomed strategy. Instead of throttling us like mad, they should give us the option to give a bit more to have my limit extended. And the package looks interesting enough, 2 GB for only RM10 during this promotional period!

Purchase more gigabytes here!

This works out to be the exactly the same price that I am paying now per gigabyte, but it won’t be such a good deal when the promotion is over. It’s valid for 30 days, more than enough for me though.

Edit one day later : I burnt through all the extra 2 Gigabytes that I purchased in less than 24 hours! That’s how “efficient” I am …. ahem ….

Unifi has come to my area! YES! Despite calls to boycott its service, I have made my own research and have decided that Unifi is the right broadband service for me.

My journey in getting myself wired to the internet harks back to the days of Jaring and TM dialup. For those of you old enough to remember, you would definitely be familiar with the whirring dialing tone of the damn phone trying to make a connection with the server. Frustrating it may be, we endured it because it was the only way to get ourselves online back then.

I used Streamyx when I moved to my home in Seri Kembangan. I still remembered that the account actually belonged to my ex-colleague Jayce who wanted to move to a new place and couldn’t terminate the account because it was still quite new. So I took over her Streamyx account, which was what I wanted anyway. It was the 512 kbps package with unlimited download. Sure, it kept disconnecting, and the speed leaves a lot to desire. But I tried Maxis broadband before and it was much worse! Believe me, at that time, Streamyx still rules!

Fast forward to 2009, I have decided that enough is enough. I downgraded my Streamyx to the cheapest package and applied for P1. Once P1 is more stable, I even terminated Streamyx, thanks to that very strong message from P1 asking us to potong. I only kept the phone line, but as far as I am concerned, my broadband life with TM has effectively been potong-ed. Or has it?

Being one of the earliest adopter of P1 has its advantage, I have the internet all to myself. But P1 is beginning to give me a lot of headaches too of late. It will behave nicely for 5 minutes, and in the next hour it will slow to a crawl. Probably the influx of people subscribing to the service in my area. I can only have a decent surf in the unearthly hours of the morning. At other times I will never be able to surf at all, especially at night. This is very frustrating, as this is the time when I got back home and expect to enjoy myself playing some Facebook games or checking mails.

Amidst the call to boycott Unifi due to its capping limit, I find that the cap limit is actually fair. Coming from a P1 user, I get to download only 20 measly gigabytes of data per month! At first when I used it I was not used to it. It basically means no more mindless torrenting all day. But come to think of it, I can’t really consume everything that I download every month. There is no time to watch all of these movies anyway with the two kids to take care of. I learn to prioritize what I really need and practise a little self-discipline. I call that broadband-abstinence! So what if I were to be capped at 60 GBytes for the VIP5 package? No big deal for me really.

I can say for sure that P1 is set to lose its customer. It would seem that my love for TM broadband has returned. I have applied for Unifi service a week ago during its promotion period. The move by the government to give us a RM500 rebate for broadband service has sweeten the deal even more. I will soon be surfing at 5 MB/s, which, according to forums, is realistically achievable. Although this is by no means cheap compared to our neighbouring countries, this is already the best that we have at the moment!

Believe it or not, Malaysia has the WORSE broadband infrastructure in the world. 5 years ago, 1 Mbit worth of promised speed cost RM88 per month, now it’s still RM88 per month, with only a free modem! WTF?? And don’t get me started about the term “best effort” speed! Fucking lame!

You’d be forgiven to think that our neighbours earn much more than we do, and thus has more purchasing powers. Singapore has already been riding on 100 MBit/s for years. But wait a minute, how much do our friends in Bangkok pays to surf?

What's this? 4Mbps at 599 baht? Are you sure?

I don’t read Thai, but I the offer got my attention. 4 Mbps? 599 baht, which is about RM60 per month? OMG!! Where can I sign up?

Consider this, Malaysia’s earning per capita is USD14,700, while our Thai friends earns slightly over half of ours at USD 8100. So can we still say that a country’s richness influence technology? Oh wait you say, there is UNIFI, that’s fast too. Right, if you are willing to fork out more than twice the price. The cheapest UNIFI package is RM149 per month, for the slowest 5 MBps!! * sigh *

When the days are younger, we were much more innocent. Both Erynn and I both uses dumb phones, i.e. monochrome screens, mono channel audio ring tone (you can actually compose songs on them, remember?). No MMS, no fancy mancy touch screens.

Then we bought colour phones, the legendary Sony Ericsson K700i for her and a Sumsung flip phone for myself. It was big deal at that time, having used the old Motorola brick for some time. It was also the first phone that I bought all by myself. It has 18 months of warranty, and it died 18 months later. Kudos to the Samsung engineers, they really studied their product life cycle very well indeed. It was lucky I was picked up to test the Maybank Visa Wave phone, they gave a free Nokia 3220. It was a very basic phone, but it turned out to be the best phone I have ever used.

Then the buzz was video calling. Neither of our phones got video calls, but in 2008 she bought me a Sony Ericsson W910i. That phone has video calls, but her K700i does not. I would like to buy her the Tube, the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, but she said that it is not necessary. As it turned out, the K700i died too, and she used her mum’s old Nokia phone as a backup.

Last weekend I saw this good Nokia phone that is the successor to the 5800, the Nokia C6. It was on offer at that time for CIMB customers, so I bought it for her. FINALLY we can video call each other! But as fate has it, the day I bought the C6 was also the day my own W910i died on me! So now I am using back the old trusty Nokia 3220.

Chew (not his real name) has been coughing and wheezing more and more heavily. Each time he coughs, blood comes out. At first he thought nothing of it. But the bloodly came more frequent and his breathing becomes heavy and erratic. His job as a crane operator suffered as a result.

One day while having a peaceful dinner with his wife and little girl, 5-year-old Alice, Chew coughed non-stop. Blood was splattered all across the table, and suddenly Chew blacked out and fell on the floor. When his wife finally took him to the hospital, his condition was declared as “very bad”. Chew had lung cancer, and it has already spread to 70% of his lung. Now he is bedridden as he is too weak to go anywhere. He was given only 3 months to live. Chew was devastated. He didn’t know that life was so fragile, so delicate, and that he will leave the world so soon. What will happen to my wife, his little Alice? Mrs Chew works part time as a canteen operator, and her income will barely be enough to cover the daily expenses of both herself and her girl. Who will take care of Chew? What about his medical bills?

Though the doctor took pity on his condition, he cannot do much for this family financially. However he did recommend Hospis Malaysia for him. At least when he is there, there will be people who can look after him. It is a voluntary body who takes care of people like him who has difficulty taking care of themselves. Hospis took a look at his condition and did an evaluation of the family background, and accepted him into their care, for as long as necessary.

However as fate has it, Chew’s condition went downhill after that. He can no longer sit up without support, and he needed an oxygen tank to assist his breathing. Mrs Chew would come to see him whenever she could, and each time it never fails to bring tears to her eyes.

“If you are unable to come visit me, just stay at home and take care of Alice okay?” Chew pleaded to his wife.

“How can I stay at home if I know that you are in here all alone?” Mrs Chew tried to smile, but her trembling lips wouldn’t corporate with her. Chew held her hand, his oxygen mask makes a deep hissing sound everytime he breaths.

“I want you to promise me to take care of little Alice for me. I know I do not have much time left. I am sorry that I cannot take care of both you and Alice.” Tears welled up in Chew’s eyes. “Be strong.”

Today when I visited Chew, he was in a state of lethargic. He can barely even move his hands. When I introduced to him that I am part of a community service here to make him happy, he barely moved a muscle. I noticed his condition from the nurse.

“Mr Chew, is there anything I can do for you to make your day happier?” I said with a smile. That was my standard line as we were told to say. Chew looked at me. He licked his cracked dried lips and managed to tell me,

“Can you give me 6 more months to live?” I eyed his frail face, that deep sunken eyes. “My girl is going to school soon, and I would really like to see her wearing that school uniform to school.” I choked on his reply, my expression hardly containing the emotion building up inside.

The story above is purely fictional, but are based on typical scenarios you see everyday at Hospis. If you have the compassion, do make it a point to lend them a hand. I am going to cut off my hair in support of Bald4Good on 21st August. Come bid to see me bald. You can even hold the razor that shaves off my head. All proceeds will go towards making Hospis a better place to live.

OMG!!! I can’t believe this is true! There really is a place called Fucking in the world! It’s a small town located in Austria near the eastern border with German. It was already in existence 800 years ago. So you can really forgive the townsfolk when they resist the idea of changing the name to something more ….. ahem, appropriate.

The place is also near Salzburg, where the movie “The Sound of Music” was filmed, so if you’re going to that place anytime soon for a vacation, please remember to add this place to one of your “must-visit” locations.

You'll fall off the bike too if you suddenly see this sign!

Apparently English speaking tourists going to the place has a lot more idea than just taking pictures. There was one occasion where a total of 4 stolen signs in one night! Boy, that beat my record! (Whoops!) Eventually the signs were later replaced with permanent posts that were welded with concrete to the ground and bolted in place. Even CCTVs were installed to prevent people from making indecent acts in front of the signs! That bad huh?!

Wait, there’s more, how about that place called Anus, Pussy, Condom in France, a couple of Climax, Intercourse in US and Dildo in Newfoundland? Some people have weird sense of humour…..

I have been warned for many many times before this. I have already prepared myself mentally to begin to accept this inevitable consequences.

You see, I have now changed job, since 1st July. I am no longer working in Cyberjaya, and I loved the place! (The town, NOT the workplace) Now my new company is located in Midvalley. I have been pondering for a very very long time whether or not to work at that place. Transportation was, and IS, the only obstacle that repels me away. I have tried to wear a positive mindset, but that obviously did not work.

My first day there started rather well. Mei Fen dropped me off at the KTM Kommuter station in Serdang. opposite the Mines early in the morning at about 7:50 am. I bought the RM60 monthly return pass, and in no time I was in the train. It was still good, there was no pushing or shoving, everyone was very civilized. I can still breathe, I can feel a slight cool breeze coming from the air-cond vent. This isn’t so bad after all.

My new colleague who also happen to stay in Serdang and takes the KTM to work everyday told me that the morning commute is still bearable, it’s the evening trip back to Serdang that I should watch out for.

And boy was he right. On my first day evening back home, there were a lot more people standing at Platform 2 waiting for the train compared to the morning trip. Where did all the people come from? It was stuffy as hell, I had to hold my breath for 20 full minutes of pure agony before the train stopped in Serdang.

I still have not found the optimum time to leave the office. Yesterday, the second day of work, the trip back was even more horrendous! I was standing in what seems like hundreds and hundreds of people on the platform. Even that did not even begin to describe what a horrible experience that I was about to go through for the next 25 minutes!

The first thing that sends a cold shiver down my spine was the announcement on the PA system, “Tren seterusnya akan sampai pada pukul 7:06 minit malam. Tren ini amat sesak”. * Gulp, did I hear that correctly? I have never hear any announcement of that nature before. Could it be that my ears are playing tricks on me? “The next train that comes at 7:06 pm is very VERY congested” Oh no, he is even stressing the word VERY! This can’t be good, I mumbled under my breath. I better enjoy the stuffy air on the platform while I still can!

In about 2 minutes, the train screeched to a stop on the platform. I can hear the groans of the other passengers on the platform on seeing the sardine-packed coach. Shit, how am I gonna go inside the train? I was about to give up hope. If I can’t go in this one, I’ll just wait for the next train, I naively thought to myself. The door opened, about a dozen people squeezed their way through us, and before the last passenger alighted from the door, a sudden force gushed from behind our backs! Turning back to wait for the next train was not even an option. So there I was involuntarily shoved into the train. There was no time for you to think, you could only try to maintain balance not to trip over and get squashed by the stampede. The train door closed, much to the dismay of hundreds of others still trapped on the outside. They should count their blessing, I thought. Being on the inside of the train is actually the wrong side of the train!

The train slowly jerked forward. Unlike my morning trips, I had no need to hold on to any hand rails. My handrails are the many sweaty bodies around me. Smelly men, helpless young ladies, old aunties, the poor Malay girl. These are all the total strangers whom I had to privilege to exchange my bodily fluids with, through our skins. The old auntie behind me complained that something hard is pushing against her shoulder, and her friend asked her to push me back. How rude! It’s like, do I have a fucking choice? My laptop is inside my bag, and does it look like I have a huge empty space right in front of me, and that I am only pushing you just for the sake of it? These old aunties can be so damn inconsiderate! Don’t let me see you again, I’ll push you even more, and this time not only with my bag!

The air inside! Ohhhh ….. *stuffy* don’t even begin to describe the suffocating crush inside. The stale air burns our throats and lungs. There was a portion of the trip when the train will stop function for a short duration. It always happen between Salak Selatan and Bandar Tasik Selatan. During that outage, the air-cond would also stop function. On that fateful day when the air-cond stopped, instead of feeling worst, I did not feel anything. The air is already bad even with the air-cond, so turning off the air-cond does nothing to make any difference. They might as well save a bit of electricity and turn off the air-cond straight!

People come and go at the stations, but there are still a lot of people in the train. I saw a dude who closed his eyes, beads of sweat rolling down his cheek and nose. He has the expression of pain in his face. There was also another mother who brought his young boy along with him. As soon as the door closes behind them, the boy immediately cried. Can’t blame him, I would have cried too myself!

Gosh I wish it was just a nightmare, and I will wake up as soon as I blinked my eyes. I blinked, but I am still here in the train. Oh no, this is for real! And I will have to endure this for the entire duration of my tenure in Midvalley! PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I am so happy when I saw the news today. Chew Mei Fen got the boot from the MCA council! PADAN DIA PUNYA MUKA!! I fully support this move. Her recent spat with Ong shows that she is no longer in-sync with the party’s objective. Anyone who is either with Ong, or against Ong. Yeah, yeah, Ong said that this has got nothing to do with her move to have an extra EGM on 28 Nov, but even the blind knows what his agenda is. But in any case, I still support him. His style might be dictatorian, but that is how China grew to be so big in the first place!

People, I urge you NOT to be pitiful to MF Chew. As Soi Lek mentioned yesterday, MF Chew is indeed very “talented“. She is the only one among 7 million chinese in Malaysia who got a portfolio in the ministry even though she lost her constitution. (Chua, you forgot about Koh Tsu Koon ) MF Chew deserves it, and if she knows better, she had better resign from all her post in MCA. Nobody wants a loser in the party.

Looks like MCA is regaining back its shine after all. Let’s hope this stays

There are a few reason the notorious jam happens. One does not need to be a highway engineer to figure that out. The poor people in Serdang gets no fucking exit in the MEX, while Damansara / PJ gets 7 highways (Federal, LDP, Kesas, Sprint, NKVE, Penchala, NPE)! What, people in Serdang not worthy of the attention of the Malaysian Highway Authority? The jam in Serdang has been going on for aeons! I remember the condition was already very bad during my brother’s graduation, back in 1999. All because of the lousy exchange in front of South City Plaza / Mines area. Heck, there wasn’t even South City Plaza at that time! And at one point, the authorities had one chance to make things right when they upgraded the Balakong interchange in front of Mines. But being their fucking usual “tidak-apa” attitude, everyday minum kopi makan roti, they chose to ignore the worsening condition of traffic going into Balakong from MRR2 and Serdang. Fuck you, the MP of Serdang at that time Datuk Yap Pian Hon! Oh I forgot, you are from MCA, and you’re supposed to shut the fuck up when the corrupt UMNO goons says so.

Then there is the condition of the wet market in the centre of town. It’s been there since the town was established and frankly it has way expired! MPSJ promised to move the fucking market elsewhere. That was even before I moved to stay in Seri Kembangan. Nothing much changed since.

The booming city where I stay isn’t helping the situation. Apart from Jusco, there is now a coming Giant and an entertainment hub at The Atmosphere. It’s right next to a tolled LDP, so people who wants to go to KL without paying the exorbitantly priced highway toll have no choice but to go through Serdang town. Even if they want to pay toll, the exchange going to LDP / Cyberjaya in front of The Atmosphere gets jammed up every morning and evening. A big turn off!

So the people staying here cannot do nothing but just endure this, day in and day out. X-(
