KLCC? Been there, done that. PetroSains? Now that’s somewhere I’ve never been to in my entire life! And to be honest I was really excited. I don’t have a reason to be excited, I’ve been to Pusat Sains Negara, and frankly I am bored of going to through another physics-education-for-dummies roadshow. But this time it’s with the kids, and I thought maybe I go there with a different role now, as an educator.
Hui Yan : "My Batmobile!", Kit Yan : "No, it's MINE!!"
The trip begins with a slow trip on a pod through a dark tunnel, not unlike a scary roller-coaster ride I’ve been through while in Sidney. Kit Yan, being the timid little girl that she is, clung to me through the entire ride! In just a few minutes we were on the platform on the 5th floor of KLCC.
The platform upon landing on the 5th floor
There was not anything that would excite me, just the usual stuffs: principles of energy and power, optical illusions, machines and gears, prehistoric, space, stars and planets, magnetism and gravitation. There was even a full replica of an oil platform inside complete with a helicopter simulation ride to the oil rig! I was quite impressed with them, they were really something that no other science centres have, and goes to show how creative Malaysians can be.
Hey look, it's Barney! ROOOAAARRRR!!!
The was even a live demonstration of the properties and uses of liquid nitrogen. Don’t try this at home.
Daddy is going to space now
