OMG, I’m watching Ola Bola for the second time! And this is the best ever! Why, well read on!

It was the 3rd day of CNY. We’ve got nothing much to do in Sagil, so I suggested to my father-in-law that I bring them to watch Ola-Bola, since I know he’s a football fan, he’ll be able to identify with those players more than I can. So I bought those tickets, and along with my brother-in-law, we went to Melaka and had our dinner before the movie starts.

Since this is the second time watching this, I kinda notice things that I didn’t notice there before. The Milo cans in the fun-fair, the sew-machine, the hair-styles of the characters, the motorbike and the cars. The fact that they can even find those in working condition is an amazing feat! I was also in-tuned to the scores in the movies. I was in awe when the camera flies across vast padi fields, wet marsh lands and the mountainous rail track, I also tuned in to the riveting soundtrack, almost with the similar thunderous drum roll of John William’s Jurassic Park score. Kudos to the amazing talent of the music soundtrack team!

I also can’t help noticing the jerky panning of the drone camera used in the shots, can you find it in the movie? I wonder why they didn’t smooth it out post-production.

My father-in-law’s comments later was that it was not really accurate, it was the chinese guy who scored the final goal. And he was right. There’s a lot of buzz in Facebook lately saying that the director bend the history, but earlier in the film, he has already stressed that the movie is “inspired from a true story”, and not really a documentary. So chill lar….

When the movie ended, as was before, the crowd clapped their hands. I felt goosebumps in my skin. This is the second time they are doing it, every time without fail. Someone later told me that the applause was even greater in Bangsar, the Indian crowd cheered loudly! When the lights came out, somebody came up in front with a mic and asked us if we enjoyed the movie. Then to the surprise to everyone of us, the director and cast of Ola-Bola came to the front and greeted us! OMFG, I’m so psyched! They handed out caps and souvenir for us. And we also had a chance to take pictures with them! YAY!

Cast of Ola Bola! OMG!

GOL GOL GOL GOL GOL GOL GOL!!!!! I will believe again!
