This site is in dire need of an upgrade for a long time. If you have been to that site, you would have noticed the skewed arrangement of the blog. Very unprofessional!

I have also received complaint that some of my friends were not able to comment on the posts in this particular website. I suspect the theme is the culprit here.

Now that I have bid adieu to the old theme, and say hello to the new Photos@Jacky Yong, courtesy of GeckoAndFly. I have modified his Studio Press Black theme to suit mine. Very nice theme, IMHO. Tell me what you think of the new theme! 😉

I converted to NGV!

With the rising fuel prices and the never-ending commitments that I need to shoulder, it is only natural that I seek to increase my income and lower my expenditures. Having scrutinized my monthly budget, I have come to realize that the biggest money outflow goes to petrol. And between the two cars (Wira 1.5 GL (auto) 1998 and Altis 1.8G 2002), the Wira is the most fuel inefficient.

Having identified the cause is not useful if no action is taken. While all the other people talk about ways to reduce fuel consumption (turn off air-cond, drive at 80 km/h max, fuel additive), nothing is as drastic as what I did for the Wira yesterday. While others only talk, I choose to walk! Go gas!

It feels weird queueing up with taxis on the refueling stations Read the rest of this entry »

Adventure in Singapore

I was stationed in Singapore again these pass few days. The difference this time is that I brought my camera along, in anticipation of the longer period I am here, and the fact that I will spend one weekend here.

Which means that I have a lot of photos to share with you! I stayed in Somerset Liang Court, in Clarke Quay, one of the most happening places around. On the second night was in Singapore, our boss Sally came over from Malaysia to belanja us dinner. We went to Hooters, the first Hooters in Asia. Contrary to what you think, the Hooter girls were not as well-endowed as you and I like them to be.

Wipe that grin off your face, ya pervert!

WordPress 2.6

Finally, after much delay, upgraded myself into WordPress 2.6. Nothing much happened, the only biggest issue was that Alex King’s Popularity Contest is still not working. Activating it causes a “Fatal Error” to be displayed. But that is not news since WordPress 2.5. According to websites, Alex King is too busy to clean up his own mess.

There is an easy workable solution to this. Just go edit the popularity-contest.php file located in your plugins folder and go to line 59. Just change from this to this:

require('../../wp-blog-header.php');

to this:

require('../wp-blog-header.php');

And everything just falls into place. But that didn’t come with some silly human mistakes as well, mistakes that led me to debug php codes until the wee hours of the morning! My wife is calling me back to sleep already, and Yan Yan is crying for milk. I better sign off now.

Magic Babe Ning

During one of my trips to Singapore, I brought my camera there. I stayed in Clarke Quay, one of the most happening places in Singapore currently. One fine Saturday I bumped into this daredevil show in the middle of busy Clarke Quay, The Impalement Cage!

The Impalement Cage

The Impalement Cage

The star of the night is Magic Babe Ning. Who? That was also my initial reaction when I heard the name. I later found out that Magic Babe Ning appears in one of the hottest men magazines around, FHM in Singapore. Dubbed as the sexiest woman magician in Asia, she performed one of her famous escape act. Harriette Houdini anyone? This time, the magic is done differently; out in the open, with no covers, no shadowy silhoutte, with live crowd in all 360 degrees! Interesting? They did give me the RM625!

Previously I had my doubts when I said that the government will honour their pledge of RM625 to peasants like us. Good news is, they do! Got my road tax renewed on 8th July while I was in Singapore last month. But the bad news is, baby milk powder is on the rise. Luckily the shop in Serdang where we normally go to buy still has some old stocks with the old price. So my wife quickly bought 4 boxes for Yan Yan and 3 boxes for Hui Yan. Then there also the yearly car insurance that we need to pay. 🙁

In the end, when I came back form Singapore, I never did get to see the RM625. They were all used up all in a flash. What do you think? RM625 enough for a normal family staying in Malaysia? Some more the price of petroleum has decreased, but still the government insist on sticking with the higher price! They are doing like a person who is about to go to the gallows. They will be enjoying all the luxuries of life, feasting on the best food, minutes before they are beheaded. In this case, Pak Lah knows that the days of BN are numbered. Thus they are now sucking the wealth of the nation dry before they hand out the country to Anwar. At the expense of the rakyat of course!

Restoring Dull Sky

I have a big problem while shooting the Bagan Lalang project a while back. Most of the sky were of dull grey, with no noticeable details like clouds etc. (There is a lot of dust though, but that’s because my sensor is dirty! :P) Have a look at this picture:

Fun in Bagan Lalang

Where the heck is Bagan Lalang! That was my initial question when Wei Ching popped this place for me. It’s somewhere near Sepang, and there is beach over there. I never knew that Sepang has a beach!

Wei Ching and I were discussing of a place where we can go for our outdoor bikini shoot. I have promised Ellie Choong for a long time that I will go to a beach to take her picture with her friends. They wanted a bikini themed shoot. With not just one, but at least 4 models, 3 girls and a guy! We couldn’t resist it!

We met in Jusco Equine at 1:30 pm. Kian Kheong, Wei Ching and his fellow Alpha Brandon Lai were awaiting for us there. Ellie and the models went to Bagan Lalang themselves first. Brandon, Wei Ching and myself were driving. Brandon was having problem with his GPS, it couldn’t connect properly to his cigarrete lighter, so he passed it to me. My cigarette worked with his GPS, so it stayed with me for the entire journey to Bagan Lalang. It was to be my first ever experience driving with a GPS! And it also talks in Cantonese! Cool! I must get me one of these gadgets!

Once arrived there, we wasted no time. We scouted for a suitable place for us without the spying eyes of outsiders. We only found one; the far-away sea about 500 metres from the beach. It was low tide, so we could safely walk across.

Ahhh shoot! The horizon is senget! Otherwise, I love this picture!

You eat dragon fruit, you poo red sh*t

This is only a trivial fact. Interesting, but trivial nonetheless. So here goes. Wise man says,

When you eat red-fleshed dragon fruit, you poo red shit.

I know, I’ve been there. Yesterday we cut open the dragon fruit that the hotel gave us. The fruits came as a token of apology for the power cut that happened last Tuesday. But we were oblivious to that of course, because we were in the office. Duh.

Anyway back to the red-fleshed dragon fruit. Yeah, so I said it. You eat them, you get red poo poo. Plain and simple.

Hmmmmm ….. wonder what will happen if I eat one of those white-fleshed ones….
