Stupid Citibank – Bella Indulgence Offer

Posted: 18th October 2007 by Jacky Yong in Current Affairs, Silly me

Frankly I am just so fed-up with Citibank’s sub-standard offers, considering Citibank’s size and its ability to do much better than that!

I am talking about the lame offers by Citibank and its equally lame affiliate Bella. See link here, if it’s not gone yet.

I received an SMS from Citibank informing that I am eligible for a skin treatment. So I made an appointment with them, drove all the way to their branch in Avenue K (wasted my petrol in the process), and what do I get in return? The ladies there gave me “expert consultancy”, which consists of series of questions and some form filling. She didn’t even bother to touch my skin, and what, this is supposed to be a “skin care centre”? After what seems like endless chatters of more promotions and offers shoved up to my face, she wrapped up with giving me a RM100 voucher. And surprise, surprise, their cheapest package cost something in the range of RM200! WHAT A TOTAL RIP-OFF!! She insists on me going for their next treatment, so I played along, simply by giving a date which I did not even bother to check of my availability.

To rub salt to the wound, Citibank sent me another TWO SMS’s informing of this very same offer!! I am so fed-up with their lousy service, they will not be surprised if I decide to cancel all my cards in Citibank. I get no good deal with this bank anyway!

Citibank has better start listening to its customers more, else it is going to lose more than me as their customer! For one thing, in view of the rising cost of living, they should instead give things like petrol vouchers. Come on, they were the ones who wasted my petrol in the first place! Assholes!

To be fair, they did call me a few days later. To call me a few days later, in Citibank’s standard, is a big deal, because they will normally reply to my inquiries within 24 hours. I’m guessing this created quite a ruckus within their management. It should. If it didn’t, something is very wrong with their Customer Management System. They explained that the reason why 3 SMS’s were sent was because I qualified by making 4 online transactions in July, 4 in August and another 7 in September, thus the 3 SMS’s. But that still does not explain the stupid offers by Bella. Fine, Bella is Bella, nothing to do with Citibank. Next time change partner lar. Don’t use Bella anymore. Use Petronas larr for goodness sake! Stupid!
