No disrespect to the victims and family members of the MH17 tragedy, but there’s too many great things happening today. For one, it’s pay day! YAY! And two, I’m going to Bali for holiday, just my wife and I, without the kids! This is gonna be awesome!

I’m not a big football fan, I have to admit it. But the World Cup is too big to miss. I try to watch at least the finals whenever possible.
Today was the finals, Germany against Argentina, after the German boys defeated the home ground Brazilians in a humiliating 7-1 defeat.
When I opened the TV to watch it, the score was 0-0. I remembered thinking, “Aw man, penalty time”. That was at the 111th minute, and I haven’t even got time to determine which team is wearing which jersey colour. Less than 10 seconds later, somebody scored a goal, and I thought so fast? Is this live or is this just a highlight? For a minute I even thought that it was the Argentinian who scored. Then I saw that the Germans were wearing white, and they scored a single goal, and it was live! Only 10 minutes to go, including injury time before the referee blow the winning whistle. And then it was finalized, the Germans hold the World Cup again!
Now that the Germans are celebrating, can we expect to see a special cheaper price on Mercedes-Benz or BMW today? #wishfulthinking 😛

Actually come to think of it, I was the one who was being a big racist. The Chinese girl whom I assumed was Chinese, how can I just make an assumption that she is a Chinese? By just looking at her fair skin and small slit eyes, how can I possibly make the assumption that she is Chinese? By making that assumption, I am actually generalizing that all Chinese have fair skin and slit eyes.
Same for that girl who was trying to sell me the Haj package. She was the one being fair, she asked everyone for the package, irrespective of whether that person is a Chinese, Malay or Indian, which is the right thing to do. Again I am over generalizing, some Chinese can also be Muslims. Who am I to judge that only Malays can be Muslims?
I stand corrected.
Baru hari ni dah dua orang ingat I Melayu. One chinese girl talked to me in Malay, another Malay salesgirl was trying to sell me the Haji package….

Korean’s prime minister resigned after 300 people feared missing when the ferry goes missing. Meanwhile back at home our Jib Gor had to be told that racial discrimination will bring us nowhere by none other than the President of the United States of America, Obama. One can’t help wondering, why is this Ah Jib still around? #lifeissounfair

Yay, more updates to the phone! This is already the 3rd update, including the first time I bought it. All updates seems to add new functions and features. And seems more stable.
So it’s been more than 2 months that I’ve been using this phone, how does it fare?
My biggest praise for this phone is its amazing water resistance. I am an alpha-male, who leads an active, don’t-give-a-fuck life. No amount of dirt or sun or rain can stop me living my life. So why should my phone be such a sissy? (I’m looking at you iPhone) With just a screen protector and a hard plastic back, me and my Z1 are out conquering the world! I have been rain soaked, swimming and climbing mountains with this phone, and none seems to faze it. It’s really quite impressive!
It’s also quite a chick magnet itself too. I find myself starting a conversation just by them chicks looking at it. And yes to be frank it lends itself quite admirably in the looks department, especially if I take it off from the plastic cover. Sure, the all-glass construction is a fingerprint magnet, but nothing like a good wash couldn’t take away. Compared to the all plastic Samsung and the boring iPhone, this Z1 takes the cake!
This being an Android phone, being able to customize is a huge advantage, at least for a tinkerer like me. A lot of apps are free, and they are no worse than Apple’s app store in terms of usability. I can go on and on comparing the Apple and the Google app store, but I’ll leave that argument out, it’s subjective to a lot of people anyway.
It’s been a few months of usage and I have already updated the software a couple of times. So good support from Sony here, although this is just an AP phone. So far so good, I’m liking it!
You know what funny is? It’s when you receive no April’s Fool day joke on April’s Fool day. And I’m not joking!
My wife has been wanting to eat this for a very long time….
