Arrgghhh!! I have answered my own questions again! Earlier today I have decided that Drupal 5.3 is not compatible with the themes that I have wanted. Read link here
I couldn’t be more wrong!
After much reading, the reading was actually related to the permission of my folders. All I had to to is to reassign them back to, well, whatever permission that works for the other themes. This works for both modules and themes.
Here is how the original permission looked like:
Select the modules / themes which you wish to show:
Click on Change Permission:
A popup window will appear. (Note: might be different for your web hosting company)
Assign Read and Execute rights for Group and World. As a rule of thumb, make sure that the permission is the same with other themes / modules that are visible.
